It’s been a busy holiday season here at ajmatt blog. Among the usual parties, trips to family locales, and an excess of social engagements, here are a few things we’ve been up to.
Matt finished his second class with a fun paper on the American Philosophical Society. He signed up for two classes in the Spring on top of his full time job—he’s crazy, and he knows it. He’s planning on officially enrolling in the PhD program early next year.
I started a new job, which included a major industry change—from a research/archive librarian for the media, to a knowledge resources manager for a government consulting company.
I started and completed National Novel Writing Month. See my lovely prize to the left. (To clarify: yes, that was somewhat sarcastic, but the real prize is the satisfaction of completing such a huge task.)
I have a few blog entries in the queue and, even though they are fairly out of date now, they are written and (after they go through my stringent editing process) I thought I might as well post them. So keep your eye on this space for some… old news. Nothing but the best from ajmatt blog.
Wow, that’s great! Congratulations on finishing NaNoWriMo! It’s an event I’ve seen for a couple years now but haven’t ever participated in. Maybe next year once the house is finished and we’re more settled.
I’d love to read your novel if you wouldn’t mind sharing it.
I’m so amazed with your Nanowrimo accomplishment. I’ll be the second member of your clamoring fan base to post their desire to see your work.
On the topic of novels and, well, you, did I ever tell you that one of my favorite books of all time is about a girl named Allegra? I’m a little embarassed to admit it because it’s really a children’s book, but I still love it to this day. It’s called The Mozart Season, and is about a young girl who enters a violin competition playing a Mozart concerto.
What is your novel about?
