We blogged about this a few years ago, but we live three houses away from a great spot to watch the D.C. fireworks. From this spot you can easily see the tip of the Monument, as well as the Capitol (if you know where to look).
This year we paused Ghostbusters (which I’d never seen before, and thoroughly enjoyed) and Baby Bjorned down the street at 9:05, snagging a spot off to the side with a perfect view. I never noticed that there were so many young kids in the neighborhood, but it seems we suddenly fit in with a new crowd.
Matt took a few pictures to commemorate Eva’s first Fourth of July, which came out pretty well (you can barely see the Washington Monument on the right).
Eva spent some time looking around at the crowd, and fell asleep around the time the fireworks started. She jumped a little when the street applauded at the finale, but otherwise stayed sound asleep – which means she enjoyed it.
