Happy belated 4th

We blogged about this a few years ago, but we live three houses away from a great spot to watch the D.C. fireworks. From this spot you can easily see the tip of the Monument, as well as the Capitol (if you know where to look).

I never noticed that there were so many young kids in the neighborhood, but it seems we suddenly fit in with a new crowd.

Matt took a few pictures to commemorate Eva’s first Fourth of July, which came out pretty well (you can barely see the Washington Monument on the right). 20090704_003

Eva spent some time looking around at the crowd, and fell asleep around the time the fireworks started. She jumped a little when the street applauded at the finale, but otherwise stayed sound asleep – which means she enjoyed it.
